Video Surveillance as a Force Multiplier
Video Surveillance Powered by Solis Energy
Hollister, California is a city with a population of 38,000 and 38 sworn police officers. In order to prepare to receive 100,000 motorcycle enthusiasts for the city’s annual three-day bike event, the Hollister Police Department hired SurveillanceGrid to design a video surveillance network on the streets that was tied to social media to help find and diffuse potential conflicts before they could form. However, the video surveillance network needed to be mounted on street lights, which are not powered during the day. In order to solve this problem, SurveillanceGrid elected to use Solis Energy’s Continuous Power Bridges to ensure that the network received continuous and reliable power.
